Breaking new ground in ajoene and ajoene derivative synthesis


A research collaboration between Neem Biotech’s scientists and chemists from Prof Thomas Wirth’s Cardiff University-based chemistry research group has generated an exciting new tool in the synthetic chemistry toolkit.

This research collaboration offered an opportunity to refine the chemical processes that are used to produce ajoene. The result is a novel, more efficient approach that yields higher ajoene levels and has potential for use both in scaled up production volumes and in preparation of ajoene derivatives for biological testing.
